We’re celebrating THREE whole years of Taran3D! Take a look at our new showreel, highlighting all of the great work we’ve been involved in during that time.

It feels like yesterday that I made the leap from employee to business owner and started our journey to become one of the leading 3D studios in Birmingham. 

The past three years have been a whirlwind of ideas, growth, connections and hard graft building our brand and reputation and forging our path in immersive tech.

How We Started

As an Asian creative working in my field for a long time, I never felt seen as anything other than a technician and whilst my leadership & entrepreneurial flair was always there, I recognised early on that to achieve the success I deserve, I had to shape my own path and business.

I worked tirelessly over the years to hone my skills and build the foundations of the business whilst working full-time. I officially launched Taran3D in 2019 with the collaborative support of a project from the Sikh Museum Initiative. Funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, The Anglo Sikh Virtual Museum was an immersive online repository of digitally scanned and modelled artefacts to be explored in various immersive platforms. This project was hugely successful and acted as a crucial springboard to build our portfolio and highlight our brand to new audiences which were crucial for our survival during the pandemic.

2020 saw us successfully navigate the challenges of the pandemic whilst continuing to win significant projects including our first international client which helped launch our work on a global scale and gain international recognition. 

Where we are

My vision was to become a leader in the field of 3D and immersive tech through the creation of a flexible business model that works successfully for both my clients and team. I was and will always be focused on the human side of the business, building a Considerate, caring & people-focused brand.

Fast forward to 2022 and Taran3D is now firmly established as one of the region’s leading 3D/CGI creative studios with an excellent reputation in our industry. Taran3D has grown significantly over the past two years and our expert team brings a passionate, dynamic approach to all our projects. We have worked on a range of immersive projects for a variety of sectors including manufacturing, medical, arts & heritage and automotive and have recently made moves into the metaverse with our exciting new multi-user environment.

Our projects

It’s difficult to choose from so many awesome projects, but our standout ones must be animating Perry, our favourite mascot ever for the Birmingham2022 Commonwealth Games and being part of the team who created the stunning Sikh Soldier Memorial which was recently unveiled to great aplomb in Leicester’s Victoria Park. Community Support

As a company, we are absolutely committed to supporting the next generation of tech talent in the industry and have established Handsworth Innovation Hub in collaboration with Nishkam Centre. HIH aims to support marginalised community’s access tech & innovation and our series of events helps to bridge the digital divide, giving people the opportunity to access education, training and career opportunities in a welcoming and inspiring environment. 

We are also keen advocates of promoting our city and region as a leader in XR/3D design and give our time to a range of events including panel discussions and workshops to champion the digital industries within our city and region wherever possible.

So, what’s next? Well, with three successful years under our belt and a schedule full of amazing projects in 2023, we feel like we’re just getting started and are optimistic to see what the future holds for us.
