A Constant point of development/angst for me has always been character creation since the beginning of the sarbloh warriors game concept. Getting back into it recently has been really interesting. Studying anatomy and using a more image reference based approach has led to an easier work-flow. Looked at a lot of Indian wrestlers and kabbaddi players to try and get away from the western  body-built type which is more stockier and less muscle definition.  Set about recreating the 17th century Khalsa soldier concept that I created for the original SW game. Since we are no longer restricted to old game technology I decided to bring the character into a next gen quality, which is what i always wanted it to be. This is not textured yet so is presented as a modeling concept onlyRead More

Nothing much to say really, just a 3D model of a traditional Sikh kirpan. I was aiming to create a fairly simple low polygon model and let the photo texture do the rest of the work. Really enjoyed modelling this one as it has a beautiful curve on the blade. Decided to do an animation of the dagger as if for a virtual exhibition type of display.Read More

Here is an ornament that was traditionally worn by sikh soldiers on their turbans meant for going into battle. The “Chand Tora” is a metal symbol consisting of a crescent and a double edged sword, it is held in place at the front of the turban by woven chainmail cord tied in a pattern within the turban to protect the head from slashing weapons. This particular design was inspired from an image that used to be on the original sarbloh.com website. I mixed it with a circular chakar shape with a bar down the centre that would be used to secure the armour to the turban using metal wire.Read More
